Privacy policy for RF Lotse

Last updated: October 2026

1. Controller

Jan Ralf Stürkat, Digital Smart Solutions, Erblandstr. 66, 51645 Gummersbach, Germany. Email: mail@dss-info.de, phone: +49 2262 6998282.

2. In short

RF Lotse is a program for Mac and Windows that reads a connected analyzer (RF Explorer) and helps plan radio frequencies. It runs entirely on your computer. It has no user account, makes no internet connection, sends no usage or crash data and contains no advertising or analytics. We receive no data from you through the use of the app.

3. Data stored only on your computer

These files never leave your computer and we have no access to them. You can delete them at any time, in the app via "Clear" and ✕ or directly in the file system. If you enter names of people in frequency lists, you are responsible for that data yourself.

4. Purchase and download

If you buy RF Lotse in the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store, Apple or Microsoft process your data for purchase, payment and download as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. We only receive aggregated sales figures from the stores, no personal data.

For purchases or downloads via our website, the privacy policy of the website at dss-info.de/datenschutz.html also applies.

5. Contact and support

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns a contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data once the request is closed, unless statutory retention obligations apply. If you voluntarily send us logs or measurement files for troubleshooting, we use them only for that purpose.

6. Links to other websites

The built-in database contains links to manufacturer documents and regulator publications. They only open when you click them, in your browser. From then on the privacy policy of that website applies.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia. As the app transmits no data to us, these rights in practice only concern contact requests.

8. Changes

If the app changes in a way that transfers data, we will update this policy beforehand and point this out in the app.
